Tax Audit and Income Tax Due Date Extended:-
The deadline for Income Tax Return (ITR) has been extended again due to glitches on the portal during filing.
The due dates for the ITR e-filing and Tax Audit Report submit under Income Tax Act, 1961 have been extended to provide relief to the taxpayers because of glitches. However, many of the taxpayers have issues regarding the extended due dates.
Income Tax summoned to Infosys regarding glitches and Infosys give a time till 15th September to resolve the issues. So Income Tax decided to extend the due date to provide relief to taxpayers.
“On consideration of difficulties reported by the taxpayers in the filing of Income Tax Returns(ITRs) & Audit reports for AY 2021-22 under the ITAct, 1961, CBDT further extends the due dates for filing of ITRs & Audit reports for AY 21-22. Circular No.17/2021 dated 09.09.2021 issued.” –Says ITD
Income Tax Extended the Due Date
- ITR of Individuals, Professionals, Small Businesses etc (Non-Audit) due date has extended for December 31, 2021. (Earlier it was September 30, 2021)
- Tax Audit Report filing last date is January 15, 2022. (Earlier it was October 31, 2021)
- Tax Audit Return filing last date is February 15, 2022. (Earlier it was November 30, 2021)
- Tax Audit Report under Transfer Pricing (Section 92E) date date has extended to January 31, 2022. (Earlier it was November 30, 2021)
- Income Tax Return of Transfer Pricing (Section 92E) date date has extended to February 28, 2022. (Earlier it was December 31, 2021)
- Belated/Revised Income Tax Return due date is March 31, 2022. (Earlier it was January 31, 2022)

However, the original income tax due date has passed on 31st July 2021 and taxpayers face late fees issues during return filing. Now Govt provided relief to the taxpayers after the date has been extended.
